My Journey Towards Financial Freedom

When I was 15 years old, I dreamed of becoming successful. Like many young people, I was determined to build a meaningful life and create a positive impact on society.

Influenced by my family, teachers, and the people around me, I chose to pursue a career in medicine. After years of hard work and dedication, I was accepted into one of the most prestigious medical universities in Hanoi, Vietnam. Achieving admission to medical school was one of the proudest moments of my life and seemed to confirm that I was on the path I was meant to follow.

However, my perspective began to change during my clinical training in major hospitals across Hanoi. Working closely with patients taught me valuable lessons about compassion, responsibility, and service. Yet it also led me to ask a fundamental question: How many people could I help throughout my professional career?

I realised that as a medical doctor, I could positively impact thousands of lives through direct patient care. However, as an entrepreneur, I might have the opportunity to inspire and influence millions of people through ideas, innovation, job creation, and charitable activities that create lasting social impact.

That realisation changed the direction of my life.

The transition was not easy. I moved from a highly structured medical environment into the business world, where success was measured very differently. From wearing a white medical coat every day to learning how to communicate with customers, build relationships, and understand business, I had to adapt to an entirely new world. I had to develop new skills, embrace uncertainty, and build a different mindset.

Throughout my school years, I was known for academic excellence. From primary school through high school, I consistently ranked among the top students in my classes. Teachers, family members, friends, and people around me often viewed me as a successful student because of my academic achievements.

However, as I grew older, I began asking myself a much deeper question: What does true success actually mean?

This question occupied my mind for years. I spent countless hours reading, researching, learning from successful entrepreneurs, and reflecting on my own experiences. Eventually, I realised that my personal definition of success could be summarised in three simple words: Independence. Freedom. Happiness.

These three principles became the compass that guided my decisions and shaped my journey.

Over the past 17 years, I have invested significant time and effort in learning, growing, and building the skills required to pursue my vision. The journey has included achievements, setbacks, lessons, and personal transformation. Most importantly, it has helped me develop a deeper understanding of what financial freedom truly means.

To me, financial freedom is not simply about money. It is about having choices, creating opportunities, helping others, giving back to society, and living life according to your values and aspirations.

How Amazon Uses Artificial Intelligence to Transform Digital Marketing

Amazon is one of the world’s largest e-commerce retailers (Papastamoulou & Antonopoulos, 2025). Therefore, utilised Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance digital marketing strategy and customer engagement, such as personalised recommendations, predictive analytics, targeted advertising, dynamic pricing, and virtual assistants such as Alexa. This blog will evaluate Amazon’s use of AI in digital marketing, its effectiveness, competitive position, ethical challenges, and future recommendations.

Figure 1. Key applications of AI in Amazon’s digital marketing strategy.

The true value of Amazon’s AI applications is based on how effectively they improve digital marketing outcomes. This effectiveness is not only shown in increasing sales or website traffic but also includes enhancing customer engagement, decision-making, customer relationships, and creating competitive advantages. Although Amazon’s AI delivered substantial benefits, its effectiveness remains limitations.

Figure 2. AI influences customer interactions throughout the Amazon customer journey.

Improved customer engagement

AI plays a significant role in Amazon’s digital marketing strategy to increase customer engagement through personalisation (Gao & Liu, 2023). Algorithms help analyse customer behaviour then deliver personalised recommendations and advertisements rather than presenting the same content to all users. This approach improves the shopping experiences by presenting customer interests and increasing engagement.

However, increased engagement does not automatically indicate customer value. Customers present longer on Amazon may because AI systems capture and maintain attention rather than because improve purchasing experiences. Therefore, AI’s effectiveness should be assessed through customer satisfaction, trust, and long-term relationships rather than engagement alone.

Better product recommendation

Amazon’s recommendation function is the most effective component of its marketing strategy (Yaiprasert & Hidayanto, 2023). AI helps present relevant products to individual users by analysing browsing history and purchasing behaviour. Therefore, its recommendation effectiveness is the ability to simplify product discovery. AI recommendations reduce information overload by relevant products, improving customer satisfaction and purchasing.

Nevertheless, recommendation effectiveness is not solely based on increased sales because these algorithms may prioritise products with higher profits. Consequently, customers may not approach to the most suitable or diverse products.

Higher conversion rates

AI is demonstrated highly effective in improving conversion rates. Amazon delivers suitable contents to the right customers through personalised recommendations, targeted advertisements, and predictive analytics. By simplifying product discovery, AI saves customers time and effort. According to the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), technologies are more useful and easier to use than adopted (Ma et al., 2025). Consequently, customers tend to complete purchases, enhance conversion rates and increased revenue.

Despite these benefits, higher conversion rates should not be the only marketing effectiveness. Because AI can encourage customers buy when showing items with discounts at the right time they need. Thus, it raises questions about consumer autonomy and informed decision-making. Therefore, Amazon’s AI is not only a conversion optimisation tool but also a powerful tool that shapes consumer behaviour.

Enhanced user experience and customer retention

Another important AI effectiveness is the impact on user experience. Amazon integrates AI through personalised recommendations, voice assistance via Alexa, search functions, and automated customer support. AI helps Amazon understands customer preferences, provide convenient, personalise interactions; hence strengthens customer loyalty and repeat purchases (Patil et al., 2024).

Overall, Amazon has effectively utilised AI in improving its digital marketing performance. Through personalised recommendations, predictive analytics, targeted advertising, and AI-powered customer service, Amazon enhanced customer engagement, product discovery, conversion rates, and customer retention. However, effectiveness is not only commercial outcomes. While AI helps maintain competitive advantages, Amazon’s long-term success also depends on maintaining transparency, customer trust, and ethical marketing.

Figure 3. Comparison of AI integration among leading e-commerce competitors.

Amazon vs eBay

eBay uses AI primarily for search optimisation, fraud detection, and customer support (eBay, 2024). While eBay’s AI help improve operational efficiency, it is more less extensive than Amazon’s which integrates AI throughout the entire customer journey such as personalised recommendations, dynamic pricing, targeted advertising, and inventory forecasting. As a result, Amazon provides more personalised shopping experiences and encourages repeat purchases. Therefore, Amazon’s AI is in a higher level compared to eBay in integration and digital marketing effectiveness.

Amazon vs Walmart

Walmart invested in AI to improve inventory management, supply chain efficiency, and demand forecasting (Walmart, 2024). However, Amazon’s AI capabilities remain more advanced. The integration of Alexa, recommendation algorithms, personalised advertising, and predictive shopping experiences help Amazon are more tailored and interactive in customer experiences. While Walmart’s AI is effective in operational improvement, Amazon’s AI is more enhanced in customer engagement and marketing performance. Consequently, Walmart is in operational AI adoption, but Amazon is in AI-driven digital marketing.

Amazon vs Alibaba

Alibaba has innovated AI-powered livestream, visual search, recommendation systems, and automated customer service (Alibaba Group, 2024). These technologies create interactive shopping experiences. However, Amazon still maintains a competitive advantage due to its scale of customer data and mature AI infrastructure. Instead of utilising individual AI tools, Amazon expands AI throughout product discovery, advertising, purchasing, fulfilment, and post-purchase engagement; allows it deliver consistent and personalised experiences that strengthen customer loyalty.

Is Amazon leading the pack?

Overall, Amazon can be considered a global leader in AI-driven digital marketing. Compared with eBay, Walmart and Alibaba, Amazon demonstrates a more sophisticated and comprehensive approach to AI integration. Amazon’s competitive advantage is not only in the AI adoption but also in enhancing customer engagement, product discovery, conversion rates, and customer loyalty. Therefore, Amazon is leading the pack in both AI integration and digital marketing effectiveness.

Although AI creates significant value, it also raises ethical challenges.

Figure 4. Key ethical issues associated with AI-driven marketing.

Privacy concerns

Amazon collects extensive customer data, including browsing behaviour, purchasing history, search activity, and voice interactions through Alexa (Amazon, 2024). These raise concerns about privacy and data protection. Therefore, Amazon must balance personalised marketing with consumer expectations.

Algorithmic bias

AI systems learn from historical data, so biases in that data may influence the recommendations and AI-driven decisions (Hellmann, 2026). For examples, brands, sellers, or products are limited to visibility compared to others. This reduces fairness among sellers. Furthermore, biased recommendations may prevent customers from relevant products. Therefore, although AI improves efficiency and personalisation, Amazon must ensure its algorithms operate fairly.

Transparency and consumer trust

Many customers do not understand how Amazon’s AI systems recommend products or prices (Chowdhury et al., 2023); therefore, they confuse whether recommendations are helping them make better choices or encouraging them to spend more. As a result, the lack of transparency may reduce consumer trust and think that purchasing decisions are manipulated.

Dependence on automation

AI enables Amazon to provide fast and efficient customer service and personalised recommendations (García-Madurga & Grilló-Méndez, 2023). However, excessive automation may reduce human interaction such as empathy and judgement.

Amazon should consider the following recommendations to optimise its AI-driven digital marketing strategy

Improve AI transparency

Amazon should explain more how recommendation systems operate because transparency enhance customer trust and shopping experiences.

Strengthen privacy controls

Amazon should make sure customers fully understand how their personal data is collected and used. Amazon can address concerns about data privacy by providing simple and user-friendly privacy settings.

Conduct independent AI audits

Independent audits will help identify potential algorithmic bias and ensure fairness in recommendations and advertising; therefore, maintain ethical and responsible AI practices.

Maintain human oversight

Although AI improves efficiency, human oversight will help improve accountability and customer satisfaction.

Invest in responsible AI governance

Amazon should invest more in ethical AI that prioritise transparency, fairness, privacy, and accountability. This helps the company increase regulatory expectations and long-term business sustainability.

Amazon is a global leader in AI-driven digital marketing. It transformed the ways consumers discover products and interact with online retail platforms through technologies such as personalised recommendations, predictive analytics, AI-powered customer service, and targeted advertising. Through the analysis, Amazon shows highly effective in customer engagement, product discovery, conversion rates, user experiences, and customer loyalty. As a result, Amazon leads ahead compared to competitors such as eBay, Walmart, and Alibaba. However, Amazon remains challenges including ethical concerns, privacy, algorithmic bias, transparency and reliance on automation. Therefore, Amazon should balance between commercial performance and customer trust to keep their long-term effectiveness.

Decoding Mel Robbins’ Digital Marketing Strategy

Welcome to my Blog

My name is Thi Huong Hoang, I am currently enrolling Master of Business Administration at the University of Canberra. I am interested in digital marketing and how online platforms influence consumer behaviour. For this blog, I choose Mel Robbins as an E-learning Influencer because of her strong personal brand and her significant influence in the personal development.

Decoding Mel Robbins’ Digital Marketing Strategy

Introduction

Mel Robbins is one of the best-selling authors, podcast host, and personal development educator. She is famous with practical advice on confidence, productivity, behaviour change, and mindset improvement. Robbins has positioned herself as a leading e-learning influencer through her books, podcast, website, and social media platforms. This blog will analyse her digital marketing strategy by examining her customer segments, content strategy, engagement tactics, digital channels, revenue streams, partnerships, and overall approach to digital marketing.

Research Findings

Mel Robbins has successfully built her digital learning brand, has more than 40 million followers worldwide to her brand, her YouTube has over 6 million subscribers which is popular with educational interviews, life advice, and professional discussions (Mel Robbins).

Her content strategy focuses on practical and researched advice through podcasts, videos, books, newsletters, and social media content and frequently collaborates with psychologists (Dr. Gabor Mate), neuroscientists (Dr. Wendy Suzuki), physicians (Dr. William Li), and marketing experts (Seth Godin) (Mel Robbins).

Customer Segments

Using the Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning (STP) Framework (Kotler & Keller, 2016), Mel Robbins targets students who are seeking motivation and confidence, young professionals who are developing their careers, entrepreneurs and business owners, individuals who are interested in personal growth, people who are experiencing stress, anxiety, or low confidence, adults who are seeking improved relationships and wellbeing. For example, episodes such as How to Master Your Emotions has attracted hundreds of thousands of views, this shows that audience strongly engaged with her.

Mel Robbins presents herself as a trusted mentor who provides simple, scientific strategies that audiences can immediately apply to improve their lives. This makes her outstanding from tons of motivational influencers on social media.

Content Strategy

One of the biggest strengths of Mel Robbins’ digital marketing strategy is her content marketing strategy. Her content diversifies on podcasts, YouTube videos, books, newsletters, social media posts, and expert interviews. Robbins focuses on solving audience problems through education and practical advice instead of promoting her products directly. For example, her podcast episodes which focus on managing anxiety, improving focus, building confidence, and developing healthier habits are very popular.

According to content marketing theory, organisations build trust and customer loyalty through providing valuable content persistently (Ewis and Aly Hussien Aly Abdou, 2025. Indeed, Robbins successfully applies this principle by regularly creating content about anxiety, productivity, confidence, habits, and relationships for her audience. Simultaneously, her podcast regularly interviews different experts, which strengthens her credibility.

Digital Channels and Engagement Tactics

Mel Robbins uses many digital channels, such as: Website, Podcast, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Email newsletters. This approach allows her reach audiences across different stages of their journey (Mel Robbins).

Her engagement strategy is highly effective because it focuses on authentic communication. She usually shares personal stories, real-life experiences that audiences can immediately implement and easily engage with her. According to relationship marketing theory, these tactics creates meaningful relationships to improve customer loyalty and long-term engagement (Sarkheil and Rafie, 2025) and follows the RACE Framework (Reach, Act, Convert, Engage) (Chaffey & Ellis-Chadwick, 2022).

Revenue Streams and Partnerships

Mel Robbins has developed multiple revenue streams though: book sales, Podcast sponsorships, speaking engagements, live events and tours, educational products, and promotions from newsletters.

Additionally, strategic partnerships with scientists, psychologists, health experts, and business leaders help her improve content quality and credibility.

Analysis of Current Digital Marketing Issues

Content redundancy is one of significant challenges. As a results, the personal development industry has become highly competitive. Therefore, maintaining audience attention plays a key role. Credibility and misinformation are also significant challenges. Robbins can increase audience participation through interactive webinars, live Q&A sessions, and online learning communities that encourage direct engagement.

Assessment of Website Design

Mel Robbins’ website is a good website because it is clear navigation and structure, strong personal branding, and easy access and read to content and resources. The website performs effectively, strong headlines, valuable resources, testimonials and success stories, and newsletter sign-ups and product. However, she can include interactive learning tools, personalised recommendations, and discussion forums. These help her increase user engagement and retention.

Emerging Trends in Digital Marketing

There are several emerging trends in digital marketing, such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI) allows marketers personalise content and understand customer behaviour; video-first marketing with short-form videos generating strong engagement; and personal branding is becoming increasingly important as audiences trust individuals. Robbins’ practical content aligns strongly with this theory because it is simple and helps audiences achieve immediate results.

Strengths, Weaknesses and Recommendations

Mel Robbins’ digital marketing strategy demonstrates significant strengths: strong personal brand, high audience trust, using many channels, scientific educational content, and effective partnerships with experts

However, there are also weaknesses, such as high competition in the personal development channels, dependence on personal brand reputation, and lack of audience interaction.

To improve this weaknesses, Mel Robbins can expand short-form video marketing on her social media platforms, develop online communities to strengthen engagement; personalise for newsletters and content recommendations, improve SEO by targeting personal development keywords, and increase webinars and live events to encourage audience interaction.

Conclusion

Mel Robbins is an excellent example of a successful e-learning influencer. She built a strong digital marketing through content marketing, personal branding, and relationship marketing. Robbins uses many digital channels, expert partnerships, and evident content. This enables her build trust and attract global audiences. Although there are challenges such as content redundancy and increasing competition, her strategy is highly effective for future growth. To solve these issues, Robbins can expand interactive content, leverage AI, and strengthen community engagement. This can help enhance her online presence and provide value to millions of followers worldwide.

(People don’t quit the job, they quit their bosses).

Ai cũng có phần khó của riêng mình. Làm staffs khổ một, thì làm quản trị khổ gấp 10, gấp 100 lần.
